Art

Gedicht

von  Pearl

I know sometimes I was so hard to reach,
but there were times when I could reach you neither.
You taught me love like an old soul:
my teacher
of something that first blooms and then has to bleed.

You said I was important, a reason for a beautiful spring.
And I couldn't wish for more than your happiness,
I couldn't wish for more than to undress
your chest from your fears and your shirt.

Because when we are young the world forgets to spin.
Because when we were young I relearned to sing.

The problem wasn' t your ex or the distance.
We were simply too immature and restless to settle down.
But I fitted you like cotton
and you fitted me like a vintage hippie gown.

I simply wasn't in the position to fight for you,
I simply wasn't in the position.

Because I felt outstanding awkward.
But later on in life when I fell apart
like a puzzle,
when I searched meaning in the stranger's words subtitles,
I understood that we two were more than just love.

You and me together: we were art.
